A green idea for Indian tyre manufacturers.
Solar energy is being used to power the tyre distribution warehouse of Nokian in Colchester town in Vermont USA. The town has a small population of less than 20,000 people , and the energy generated by the solar panels on the Nokian tyres’ warehouse provide energy to not only for captive consumption but also relay some to the grid for use by the people of the town.
The annual output of this system is around 427,500 kWh , 10% more than what is required by the company warehouse.
It is a shining example of what can be done for environmental sustainability.
The Vermont warehouse has stores of around 350,000 PCR tyres.
The Indian tyre companies must look into this method of adding to their continuous efforts of improving their value on the parameter of being responsible for environment sustainability.
