Andhra to become one of the fastest growing markets for high end cars.
Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, referred to as AP region, is among the fast-growing markets in the country as far as the high-end four-wheeler tyre market is concerned according to MRF Tyres regional manager Venkata Rajaram. The region is highly focused area for the company, according to him.
Venkata Rajaram was speaking at the inauguration of the company franchisee dealer outlet Kirpal Tyres. Venkata added, “We are trying to meet the growing requirement in the region. The denizens now need not travel hundreds of kilometers for exclusive tyres for their exotic cars as the rare facility is available here,” he said. Besides, the outlet at Indira Gandhi Municipal Stadium has got the latest wheel alignment equipment which can be useful for high-end imported cars.
Mr. Rajaram said that MRF had over 500 T&S showrooms in the country. “The automobile sector is growing fast in the Telugu States. People do not want to drive hundreds of kilometers to get their wheels aligned and balanced. We are expecting T&S showrooms to come up even in small villages. At least one or two such service centers will come up in the Telugu States every month,” he said.
The wheels of the car are like the legs of a human being. Unless the wear and tear is uniform, the life of the tyres gets reduced. “It is very similar to knee joint replacement. If the alignment is not proper the knee joint get worn out faster and we have to go for replacement, Kirpal Tyres MD Manmohan Singh explained. There was a minimum 10 per cent increase in the life of the tyre with the proper alignment and balance, Mr. Singh said.
