Apollo expands motorcycle and SUV tyre lines
Apollo Tyres has introduced three new tyres for growing industry segments, the company said. The Apollo Apterra HT2 for the expanding 4×4 and SUV segment is expected to increase the company’s share of the 300,000 per month SUV tyre market in India.
It will initially be available in six sizes and complements Apollo’s existing Apterra tyre range that now covers nearly all SUVs, Apollo said. Available with T, H and V speed ratings, Apterra HT2 tyres offer long life, lower tyre noise, and a comfortable ride. Stiffer ribs improve braking on dry surfaces and wider circumferential grooves improve wet braking. A special wear-resistant tread compound provides superior mileage, according to Apollo.
The other two introductions are extensions of the actiZip F2 and actiZip R3 tubeless motorcycle tyre lines. Developed jointly by the company’s R&D centers in Chennai, India and Enschede, the Netherlands, the tyres were introduced in multiple cities across India. The front-fitting actiZip F2 is available in two new sizes and the Apollo actiZip R3 for the rear is now available in three new sizes. With the introduction of these sizes, Apollo says its two-wheeler range now covers nearly 90% of the market.
The directional motorcycle tyres offer excellent dry and wet braking and have high levels of cornering stability. Designed with a focus on grip, safety and comfort, the motorcycle tyres are made with a new high-mileage tread compound and a stress-free casing structure that has extra protection at the tread and bead areas.
