Bridgestone announces new Standards in Sustainable Procurement Practices & also a revised Policy for Suppliers and Partners
The worlds largest tyre manufacturer Bridgestone Corporation presented its Global Sustainable Procurement Policy to improve the systems and policies governing evaluation of their vendors.
The new policy reinforces the company’s commitment to long-term environmental, social and economic advancements.
In the words of Masaaki Tsuya, CEO and Representative Executive Officer, Bridgestone Corporation. “Our new policy is a critical step in realizing the Bridgestone Group’s global corporate social responsibility commitment, “Our Way to Serve”, which provides a framework for how we do business, develop products, and interact with customers and communities,” he added, “We recognize our ability and responsibility to drive change and improvements in the ways that industry interacts with the environment and communities around the world. We expect our suppliers and partners to work with us in pursuit of sustainable supply chains, efforts which are never-ending and which require collaborations with all industry players, including communicating with the various audiences in order to generate broader public awareness.”
Bridgestone’s “Our Way to Serve,” policy is in place to ensure achievement of Bridgestone’s goal of using “100% sustainable materials” in its products as the long-term vision by 2050 and beyond.

#4 India’s leading tyre manufacturer JK TYRES & INDUSTRIES Ltd. announced that its consolidated net profit declined by 86.9 per cent at Rs 11.32 crore for the third quarter ended December 2017.
In the same period in the previous financial year it had a net profit of Rs 86.46 crore.
