Continental brings tyre monitoring tech to Australia
Three on-board monitoring systems for heavy goods vehicles are being made available in Australia for the first time by their developer Continental.
The three elements – ContiPressureCheck, Yard Reader Station, and ContiConnect Portal – were presented as part of a modular system to visitors at the Brisbane Truck show. The ContiPressureCheck platform will be rolled out for sales later in 2017.
It is built around a tyre pressure monitoring system of the same name that tracks pressure and temperature via sensors fitted to a vehicle’s wheels. The other components are used to collect and process data from the on-board system, and relay it to fleet managers to monitor tyre wear and optimise fuel efficiency.
