Dunlop recalls SP TOURING T1 tyres.
Dunlop has announced a recall of its SP TOURING T1 tyre products, offering free replacement and installation for customers owning the tyres.
Dunlop said that around 3,000 SP TOURING T1 tyres have manufacturing defects which may cause the tyres to change shape. The company has moved proactively to replace the defective tyres due to safety concerns for the drivers. An Inspection states that 190,000 of the tyres in question were imported to Taiwan. The defective tyres were manufactured from 2013 to 2015 in Thailand and Indonesia.
The BSMI report indicates that the tyre defect could cause air leakage at high velocities. Possible indicators & precursors of the defect include an increase in tire vibration amplitude that could result in deformation of tyre shape. Failure to replace defective tyres could result in a loss of vehicle control.
Customers of the specified tyre dimensions can bring their vehicles to authorized resellers and Dunlop service centers for free replacement and installation services.
