Falcon tyre promises to address long pending employee issues.
Chief minister Siddaramaiah has assured the employees of Falcon Tyre that their long-pending issues will be addressed in a few days.On Saturday, the employees met the chief minister at his residence in TK Layout and submitted a memorandum to take action against the management of the company which has not paid them salary for nearly two years. Soon after receiving the memorandum, Siddaramaiah spoke to industries minister R V Deshpande over phone and instructed him to arrange a meeting with the management and set right the issue dogging nearly 2,000 employees. He also assured the employees that if he is not pre-occupied, he will attend that meeting.On Thursday, an employee of Falcon Tyre attempted suicide in the factory premises, condemning the management for allegedly not paying him salary for the past nearly two years.
The employee who attempted suicide is Kiran Raj Urs, 35. When he was brought to the hospital, his condition was critical. On Saturday, his condition improved.Meanwhile, S S Prakassam, president of Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee ‘s Labour Cell, has promised to help the employees.”We will also take Falcon Tyre employees’ issue.
