Hankook Tyre America names new president.
Hankook Tyre America has appointed Hosung Suh president effective July 1, the company announced. Suh has led innovative change at Hankook and is expected to do the same in his new role, the Korean tyre maker said.
He previously served as senior vice president of Hankook Tyre’s global corporate strategy planning division. He replaces Hee-se Ahn, who served as president of Hankook Tyre America since January 2015. During Ahn’s tenure, the business enjoyed 15% sales growth in the replacement tyre market and built stronger original equipment relationships with automotive manufacturers.
The company was named a General Motors supplier of the year for the first time in company history earlier this year. Before joining Hankook Tyre, Suh held C-level positions with the financial companies of Hyundai Motor, including life insurance, investment securities, credit card and auto financing. He also worked at Bain and Company, a global strategy consulting firm. Hankook is constructing its first North American plant in Clarksville, Tennessee and recently moved its American headquarters to Nashville, Tennessee.
