Major fire breaks out at tyre factory in Bathinda, Punjab.
A major fire broke out at a tyre factory on Barnala road in Bathinda today evening. According to residents, the factory had an open godown in which hundreds of worn out tyres were lying for the past around 8 to 10 years.
“Either the fire broke out following bursting of a fire cracker or due to some short circuit. We never witnessed such a massive fire in Bathinda,” said Gurjant Singh, a resident of the adjoining Hazura Kapura Colony, adding that “tiny black, hot and cold, droplets” that fell over the town created panic. Deputy Commissioner Basant Garg said, “Our priority is to douse the flames. We have called all the fire tenders from the adjoining areas as well”.
