Maxxis celebrates 50th anniversary
Taiwanese tyre manufacturer Maxxis is celebrating its 50th anniversary in business this month, the company announced. Originally starting out as a small Taiwanese bicycle tyre manufacturer in 1967, the Maxxis brand is now recognized as a top 10 global manufacturer as well as the largest manufacturer of bicycle tyres in the world, the company said.
The tyre maker has extended its product range from bicycle tyres to include products for motorcycles, cars, 4x4s, light trucks, trucks and buses, ATVs, lawn and garden products, race karts, industrial vehicles, and trailers. Maxxis distributes its products in more than 170 countries. The business employs 30,000 and has offices based in Taiwan, China, Thailand, Vietnam, US, Canada, Great Britain, Germany, Holland, Japan, India, Indonesia and Dubai.
Managing director of Maxxis Derek McMartin said: “We are hugely proud of our humble beginnings, our growth and the global success that we have experienced over the last 50 years. At the beginning, the aspirations were always to be one of the world’s top tyre manufacturers and to be recognized by the industry as exactly that is fantastic.
