Pirelli Scorpion All Terrain Plus tyre scheduled for 2018 debut.
Pirelli unveiled its new Scorpion All Terrain Plus performance tyre in Las Vegas at the Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) show this week.
Replacing the Scorpion ATR, the new All Terrain Plus delivers maximum performance in demanding conditions, according to the Italian tyre maker. It is ideal for light trucks and SUVs, and uses a new generation tread compound to conquer uncompromising terrains, Pirelli said. The compound is optimized for durability, wear, and traction with higher cut and chip resistance. The new all-terrain tyre is more aggressively styled than the outgoing Scorpion ATR with a more pronounced tread pattern and upper sidewall design.
It also provides more balanced performance for offroad and daily driving needs, the tyre maker said. Designed specifically for the North American market, the new Pirelli Scorpion All Terrain Plus Tyre will be available for sale during H1 2018, and will be offered in various 16, 17, 18, and 20-inch sizes to fit popular and pickups. Suggested fitments include the Ford F-150, Chevy Silverado, GMC Sierra, Toyota Tacoma and Dodge Ram 1500.
