Which tyres will pick up sales volumes in 2018 ?
In tyre replacement sales it is very important to remember which cars were popular 4 to 5 years ago since these are the tyres that will gain sales momentum in the present.
We are giving below a snapshot of what to expect apart from the regular fast moving sizes of the popular cars like the Maruti swift , Maruti dzire , Innova and Mahindra scorpio models.
1 on our list is the Hyundai i10 Grand Launched in August 2013
The average sales per month was over 10,000 units till March 2014- the tyre size for this car will gain momentum in 2018 like never before,
2 -The Nissan Terano Launched November 2013 sold an average of 2,500 cars every month. With the Renault duster having the same tyre size , which was launched in July 2012 , the sales of this tyre size have already picked up momentum.
With the addition of Renault Terrano in November 2013 you can expect this tyre size to also to come into play in 2018- increasing sales of this tyre size by 40% to 50 %.
3 -Maruti Celerio launched in Jan 2014 –This car sold approximately 6,000 units every month at an average – and this tyre size will see an increase in sales , since a lot of celeries are due for replacement of tyres in 2018.
4-Ford Ecosport Launched in March 2014, is a best seller from the past.An average of 4,500 Ecosports were sold every month , and this tyre size will also see upward sales movement in 2018.
Hyundai Xcent Launched in March 2014- 5,000 Xcents were sold every month , and a lot of these were in the taxi segment , so probably already you may be seeing an increase in sales of tyres for them- but remember the non taxi customer will come alive in 2018 – so be prepared.
A new model of the Honda City was launched in Jan 2014 and sales doubled in comparison to 2013 – expect some cheer for this tyre size.
What will go down?
The Skoda Fabia production was stopped in Jan 2014 – be careful not to account for this car coming in for replacement.
5. Sales of the Maruti SX 4 came down to three digit levels per month in 2013 and finally production was stopped in September 2014 – again be warned –sales in this tyre size may get affected.
Sales of the Mahindra Xylo dropped from an average of 1500 units/month in 2013 to 750 units/month in 2014- also a slight drop of 5 to 7% in sales of Toyota Innova in 2014 when compared to 2013 , should see the graph of this tyre size moving slightly downward.
