Who Is P.K. Mohamed?
Education: Chemistry Major – University Of Kerala.
First Job: Junior Lecturer at Calicut Farook College (1965). BSc. LPRI (London).
Present Position: Chief Advisor – Research & Technology. Member of Management Board Apollo Tyres.
In the words of many who have had an opportunity to meet & work with P.K. Mohamed, he is a soft spoken, accomplished tyre technologist with exceptional & awe-inspiring knowledge, relevance, clarity & insight in the field of tyre technology.
A self-proclaimed fan of Abraham Lincoln and his words “Failure is not a dead end but, it is a detour,” P.K. Mohamed began his career as a junior lecturer at the Calicut Farook College in 1965. Mr. Mohamed joined Apollo Tyres in year 1976 as one of the first few employees to join the company. A move that turned out to be a lifelong relationship between Apollo & P.K. Mohamed.
A Fellow member of the Rubber & Plastic Institute London, Industrial Advisory Board of centre for Tyre Research – USA, Chairman of ITTAC (Indian Tyre Technical Advisory Committee & TESS (Technology Environment Safety & Standard group of ATMA & a Member of Management Board at Apollo Tyres Ltd., Mr. Mohamed was recognized as the “Best Tyre Technologist” in India by The Rubber Technology Centre, IIT Kharagpur in 2013.
With more than 46 years of experience in tyre technology, manufacturing & experience of working with the technology partners of various global tyre companies such as Uniroyal USA, General Tire Inc. U.S.A; Yokohama Rubber Company Japan and Continental Germany, Mr. Mohamed also has been instrumental in helping Apollo Tyres achieving world leader status in manufacturing of commercial vehicle tyres & passenger vehicle tyres & development of new technologies for Apollo.
Mr. Mohamed is a living proof of the heights achievable by walking on the path of Integrity, loyalty, hard-work, dedication & drive.
